Just over two million people visit Mount Rushmore each year. The day we were there the diversity of the crowd was on display. Several groups of Americans as well as people from other nations.
Upon our arrival we were pelted with heavy snow. As we climbed the steps towards the memorial the snow stopped. Under the flag of states the sun come out and the sky was crystal blue with a few clouds. It was like the Presidents were getting ready for their close up.

The combination of Suzanne Edminster Ancient Bristlecone Pine tree and my Milky Way
Suzanne Edminister photographed this beautiful Ancient Bristlecone Pine Tree at the The Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest which is a protected area high in the White Mountains in Inyo County in eastern California.

Once Suzanne’s photo above was merged together with my Milky Way I had to reduced some noise, added some clarity, tone and contrast to make the tree pop from the original photo.

This is a jpg file of the original raw file without any processing. For the final image I reduced the noise and stretched the images blacks and whites from the original Milky Way photo above.

SONOMACOAST ART & WINE EVENT AT THE JENNER INN
SATURDAY SEPT 10 - SUNDAY SEPT 11 - 10AM TO 4PM
The Jenner Inn is hosting an Art & Wine event to benefit local artists and the Waves of Compassion Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit. Sonoma County wineries are donating the wine for the wine tasting. 100% of the wine tasting fee and 10% of art sales will go to Waves of Compassion Foundation. There will be 4 artists in residence for you to meet. Jeweler Christine Paschal, Photographer Francesca Scalpi, Painter Linda Sorensen, Painter Deb Titus and Painter Georgia Bourdens. In addition you will see work by Jeweler: Rachel Kaplan, Potter: Randy Snyder, Potter Camille S. Hoffman, Fused Glass Artist: Libby Kirk, Fused Glass Artist: Jeanne Bosko and Illustrated cards by Mary Ruggles.

I added the Perseid’s Fireball Meteor photo to my online print shop where you can order and pay securely through Squarespace. I added several sizes and photo paper. I am donating 15% of the sale to the Eastern Sierra Observatory.
