Part of the Kern river flows through a narrow canyon. In this photo I selected a black and white tone to compliment the dark and light filtered along the river. There were several trees that had wild tangled branches. The river was strewn with boulders of various sizes. Click on the image to see it larger.
Photographing nature and the night sky gives you a profound appreciation for Mother Earth. I wish for Peace. I wish we create changes for the environmental that will benefit the Earth, our wildlife and the people of planet Earth.

Three at Petroglyph Point section of the Lava Beds National Monument a former island we saw ancient carvings. In the walls high above flew Prairie Falcons. In the large monolith there were cracks where we found a female Great Horned Owl.There was a male at the far end of the wall. The two kept calling two each other starting at twilight.
