Kern River Scene
Nikon Z9 Camera. Sigma 24-105mm f4 lens
Part of the Kern river flows through a narrow canyon. In this photo I selected a black and white tone to compliment the dark and light filtered along the river. There were several trees that had wild tangled branches. The river was strewn with boulders of various sizes. Click on the image to see it larger.

Six new Great Horned Owl photos have been added to the updated Great Horned Owl Photo Gallery. Three are from Grey Lodge Wildlife areas 9,200-acre expanse of protected wetlands offering trails, bird-watching, fishing & hunting.
Three at Petroglyph Point section of the Lava Beds National Monument a former island we saw ancient carvings. In the walls high above flew Prairie Falcons. In the large monolith there were cracks where we found a female Great Horned Owl.There was a male at the far end of the wall. The two kept calling two each other starting at twilight.
